Cupcakes with a Surprise Heart inside!

Cupcakes with a Surprise Heart inside!

These are actually pretty easy to make.

All you need is:

2 boxes of Pillsbury Cake mix. {any cake mix will do}

Icing

Red Food coloring

Prepare one box of cake mix at a time.

Dye one box of batter pink.

Using the pink batter filled up a heart shaped silicone mold. If you dont have one you could make a sheet cake and either cut out the hearts or use a cookie cutter.

Once, the hearts are finished baking and cooled. Fill your cupcake pan half way with batter. Stick the hearts in the middle of each cupcake.

Add a bit more batter over top of the hearts.  I baked mine at 350 degrees for 14 mins. {ovens vary so keep an eye on your cupcakes}

Here is what the cupcakes look like then they are finished. I had extra pink batter left over so I just use it to make pink cupcakes!

Here is the part you will want to remember. Make sure to remember which way the hearts are in the cupcakes when you removed them from the pan. I placed mine all going in the same direction. When I was finished icing the cupcakes I placed a red heart sprinkle in the front of each cupcake so I know which way to cut them.

ENJOY!
